neighbourhood
This charming & functional house boat is moored on the left bank of river Seine, in the eastern part of Paris. Gare d\'Austerlitz (nearest metro station) is located nearby. The 5th arrondissement is within walking distance as well as the Botanic Garden (Jardin des Plantes). Within the garden are also situated the Musée National Histoire Naturelle, an aquarium and a small zoo. The Jardin des Plantes maintains a botanical school. A stroll along the river banks offers one of the most romantic walks in Paris. You can reach the Saint Louis Island and Notre Dame de Paris by foot following the banks. The Place de la Bastille, where the Opera de Paris is located, is also near the houseboat. Go south east and you reach the National French Library (Bibliothèque Nationale François Mitterand). Shops, stores, restaurants and piano bars are located close to the house boat.

› Latin Quarter & Jardin des Plantes:
The 5-kilometre (3-mile) canal, opened in 1825, provides a short-cut for river traffic between loops of the Seine. It has long been loved by novelists, film directors and tourists alike. It is dotted with barges and pleasure boats that leave from the Port de l’Arsenal. At the north end of the canal is the Bassin de la Villette waterway and the elegant Neo-Classical Rotonde de la VilletteContinue  Information about the area
